Aloe vera does not tolerate much moisture, so it should not be watered more than once a week. During the winter months when everyone has slowed down, water it once a month. It is important that the pot has holes in the bottom through which higher water can be removed so that the root does not rot. Then the plant gives a very cheerful gel and becomes moist, flaky and wrinkled which is a sign of watering. The excess water from the saucer is therefore drained regularly. In the spring it saves on phosphorus-rich fertilizers and promotes watering during June. Aloe vera should be fertilized within the growth period so that the soil is mixed with gravel and 30% compost. Many growers add humus from oak leaves to the soil with pebbles and time to improve the Aloe vera solution.
